    Shopping Resources

Shop online for some of these great foods: http://www.pethealthandnutritioncenter.com and at http://www.PetfoodDirect.com

Canned Foods (in order of preference)

    1. Wysong All Meat Varieties* - a good canned alternative to raw or for days where feeding raw isn't possible. If this is the only food fed different varieties should be offered. Buy through Wysong's Website for ordering information.
    2. Wysong Au Jus All Varieties* - (alternate meat source). Buy through Wysong's Website for ordering information.
*Must be supplemented with one of the following products
      1. Feline Future Instincts TC - order through Feline Future's Website (best option, no fiber and properly balanced)
      2. Nature's Logic Multi-Vitamin Mix - natural vitamins, no synthetics. excellent choice. (great option, no fiber and non-synthetic vitamins)
      3. Wysong Call of the Wild - order through Wysong's Website (high fiber but good in a pinch)
      4. Alternating above
    3. Nature's Logic Canned - All varieties, use with multi-vitamin supplement to balance.
    4. Nature's Variety Raw Instinct Canned - All varieties are good as they advertise it to be 95% meat. The lamb product contains canola oil which isn't good for cats. Find local stores that carry it through their website.
    5. Before Grain (BG) - all varieties

Less Ideal Canned Foods (use these less but they are ok if you are not able to find others)

    1. Fancy Feast - ONLY the grain free varieties and absolutely no wheat or gluten in the ingredients. Avoid the special cuts or anything with a "gravy" as this will be mostly grain or contain wheat gluten. This food should not be a staple in the diet but is good for emergencies or last minute shopping.

    Dry (in order of preference)

    1. Ziwi Peak - a fantastic all meat dry food but expensive and imported from New Zealand. The treats are superb and a good value. Also the food is highly palatable and the cats enjoy it as treats also for special occasions. This is the number one dry food we recommend for raw fed cats who need an emergency food source when traveling or during emergencies. If cost is not prohibitive and you want to feed dry food this is the best option.
    2. Orijen - hands down our favorite for dry food. Full of antioxidents and low carb.
    3. Nature's Logic Dry Food - Not as popular with our cats as the foods above however a good product with natural vitamins instead of synthetic and a good variety of meat sources.
    4. Now! - Grain free cat food from Petcurean
    5. Wysong Archetype and Archetype Burgers - though we don't like dry foods this is a good one for those who choose to feed dry. It eliminates some of the dehydration issues because you mix it with water when serving. Buy through Wysong's Website for ordering information.
    6. BG - Before Grain. Made in Texas. Not as low carb as we like but an ok addition with mostly meat canned food or raw.
    7. Nature's Variety Dry - Raw Instincts. A good food however it tends to crumble badly and the cats won't eat it once it crumbles. website
    8. Wysong Anergen Dry - Buy through Wysong's Website for ordering information.
    9. Steve's Real Food - Freeze Dried Chicken Cat Food. Find local stores that carry it through their website.
    10. Solid Gold Cat Foods - Indigo Moon is grainfree.

Note: Never feed a lite, low fat, or low calorie product. These just contain more carbohydrates and less of what your cat needs. If your cat is suffering from obesity consider switching to a raw diet or feeding a grain free canned product.

    Cat Health Supplements

We require 3 supplements to be given for the life of your cat. An approved Multivitamin, Cod Liver Oil and Probiotics. The other supplement can help enhance your cat's health and digestion but are optional.

Cat Multi-Vitamins - Mix into to raw or canned food to finish out the diet or feed as a treat with raw diets.. All cats benefit from a good multivitamin especially considering how depleted our soils are in the USA and especially if they are not fed exclusively grass-fed/pastured and naturally raised animal products.

    1. Nature's Logic Multivitamin - a good, natural vitamin supplement that our cats find highly enjoyable. Mixes well into raw and canned foods and the cats will eat it off of dry also.
    2. Nu-Cat - Chewables or pills. The liquid has some ingredients better to avoid but if your cat will not eat the pill even crushed then the liquid is better than nothing.

    Cod Liver Oil

We use cod liver oil year round, for people and animals. Cod Liver Oil is an important part of a healthy diet for your cat as it contains an unrivaled and easily bioavailable source of Vitamin A and D, Omega 3, and DHA.

We recommend these brands in order of preference.

    1. Iceland Pure Cod Liver oil- www.IcelandPure.com (also highly recommend using sardine/anchovy oil as well)
    2. Green Pasture - Fermented Cod Liver Oil: Buy the nonflavored liquid for the cats a the flavorings may contain dangerous substances for cats such as essential oils. We buy ours from www.azurestandard.com or direct from the company www.greenpasture.org
    3. Garden of Life Cod Liver Oil - liquid. The mint is ok for the cats but get the non-flavored if you can find it. This is not as good as the fermented but still a good cod liver oil from a company we trust. Buy at local health food stores or at www.iherb.com (new customers use our referral code for $5.00 coupon - DAW007).
    4. Twinlab Norwegian Cod Liver Oil - has the class fatty acids EPA and DHA. This product is the finest natural Omega 3 cod liver oil available, meeting the rigid standards specified by Norwegian law regarding its control and quality. This oil is non destearinated (contains entire oil), unadulterated, and neither bleached nor deodorized. Buy at www.iherb.com also and don't forget the coupon code (DAW007)

    Probiotics

We require the use of a specific brand of probiotics but there are other brands you can add to your cats diet as well that are beneficial depending on their diet and needs. If you would like help finding an additional probiotic contact us for information. If you look by yourself be sure to look for soy, corn and wheat free products.

    1. Primal Defense Probiotics - powder, non-flavored (not the children's flavored kind!). Buy at local health food stores or at www.iherb.com (new customers use our referral code for $5.00 coupon - DAW007).
    2.

PetFoodDirect:: Prozyme Natural Enzyme Food Supplement Powder (200 grams) (Remedies & Reliefs) PetFoodDirect:: Prozyme Natural Enzyme Food Supplement Powder (200 grams) (Remedies & Reliefs)

Prozyme is a plant derived enzyme food supplement utilizing a proprietary formulation of specially cultured enzymes to hydrolyse starches, proteins, and triglycerides and to break down cellulose. Its effectiveness has been scientifically proven. All ingredients are human food grade and generally recognized as safe by the United States Food and Drug Administration. Vitamin C

We recommend giving a food source Vitamin C to the dogs. Cats don't necessarily need it unless they as a booster during times of detox or illness. Even diets that are raw can be lacking in this important Vitamin. We buy our vitamins from http://www.IHerb.com - they have excellent prices, service, and products.

    Acerola Powder
NOW® Acerola Powder is derived from acerola cherries, one of nature's highest sources of vitamin C. The fruit can yield up to 4,000 mg of vitamin C per 100 grams of fresh weight, but on the average yields around 1,500 mg. Our Acerola Powder is a 4:1 extract that yields 180 mg of vitamin C per teaspoon and tastes great! Buy Now at IHerb.com

    Litter & Accessories

We only use environmentally friendly, and kitty safe (dog safe too!) litters. Litters must work well in a multi-cat household with intact males and control smells.
